In recent years, beekeeping has gained notable popularity in Finland, attracting both hobbyists and commercial producers ( we are one of them). Mostly the increasing interest stems from several factors like the desire for sustainable living, a growing awareness of bee conservation, and the demand for high-quality, locally sourced honey.

We all know that honey is considered a super food, even long time ago, however, that is not the only reason why we kept our inherited beehives. We believe the bees are incredible creatures that as we gain more knowledge about, we are drawn closer to caring for it.
In general, we are dedicated to preserving healthy bee colonies despite the country’s challenging climate. In Finland, it is hard to assume or think about whether the bees will survive the winter. With winter temperatures often plunging below freezing, effective bee care during this period is crucial. Beekeepers like us insulate hives with materials like foam boards just to ensure the bees stay warm during winter. We also reduce hive entrances to minimize drafts and provide sugar syrup or fondant to sustain bees when natural food sources are scarce. Despite these challenges, we are able to successfully maintain thriving colonies, producing pure, high-quality honey mainly for home use and for our local consumers.
