BEEKEEPING,  BLOG,  THE BEES

We Made New Honey Combs

Summer is approaching and the bees will soon go out food collecting. At this time, we have 4 bee nests alive, sadly we lost 3 during winter. The good news is that out of these 4 bee nests, we can split it to make new ones if they are strong enough.

So the work begins for the bee propagation.

Our bee nests consist of 1-2 layers with 10 combs each layer. There are quite a lot of bee combs to do so Sepo came up with a smart way to do it faster. You can see in the pictures below how we did the honey combs and clean it.

The next work will be taking off these bee nest covers, when the weather becomes warm enough for the bees to fly out. During this time, they are cleaning their hives with dead bees by pushing them out from the entrance.
