December calendar, or joulukalenteri (Christmas calendar) is very common to see among people during this holiday season. It is in my opinion a very interesting way to wait for Christmas time especially among kids. We don’t have this kind of tradition in the Philippines, or at least I have never seen it before. It would be a good way to treat kids in the villages like the old times, when I get to do it yearly.
In Finland, a christmas calendar is a special countdown to Christmas. Traditionally, it’s a calendar with little windows for each day of December up to the 24th (Christmas Eve, which is the main celebration in Finland). Behind each window, you might find a small treat, a picture, or even a surprise activity. These calendars are meant to bring joy and build anticipation for the holiday season.
Waking up to receive a surprised christmas calendar with my favorite skin care brand is so nice! Who says christmas calendar is just for kids? 🙂 Everywhere I go and shop, in Finland there are a lot of christmas calendars of different sizes and contents. You can find pretty much everything you need to surprise your love ones with the things that interest them.
How is christmas celebrated in other countries?
